Chamber Hires Interim Executive Director

Claremont, NH – January 20, 2012)   The Greater Claremont Chamber of Commerce announced today the appointment of Kelly Murphy, CFRE, as Interim Executive Director.

Murphy will fill the position following the departure of current Executive Director Shelly Hudson on February 3.  Hudson announced her resignation from the Chamber to assume the Executive Director position for Red River Theatre in Concord, NH.

“The Chamber Board and I are excited at the prospect of working with Kelly in this interim capacity,” said Linda Kelk, president of the Greater Claremont Chamber. “Her breadth of experience in nonprofits, skills in marketing and philanthropy, and relationship-building attributes will be a tremendous asset as we embark on a strategic planning process for the Chamber and its mission to members.”

Murphy recently resigned her position at Valley Regional Hospital as director of philanthropy, community relations and marketing, to focus on private nonprofit consulting in the areas of grants management, special project management, and public relations. Accredited as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), her previous nonprofit experience includes executive director of United Way of Sullivan County and fundraising coordination for Turning Points Network in Claremont and Visiting Nurse Alliance of VT and NH in Lebanon. Murphy also serves as chairman of the Weathersfield School, vice-chairman of the Windsor Southeast Supervisory Union, and secretary for Community Dental Care of Claremont.

“I’m truly excited to assume this position,” added Murphy. “While day-to-day administration will be an obvious component of the job, I look forward to researching strengths and opportunities for the Chamber by having conversations with members and non-members alike. Relationship building and data mining prior to a strategic planning process can be quite rewarding for an organization.”

Murphy’s appointment allows time for the formal search committee to conduct a thorough and thoughtful recruitment.  Applications for the full-time position will be accepted until January 30, 2012

New Hampshire Housing Recognizes Connecticut River Bank, N.A. and Mortgage Originator Sarah Powell

Charlestown, N.H. – New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority has named Connecticut River Bank, N.A. as one of its “Top 10” participating lenders and Sarah Powell, mortgage originator in the Claremont NH market, as one of the “Top 5” loan originators for 2010.  Through the New Hampshire Housing Single Family Mortgage Program, mortgage loans are extended to low-and-moderate-income first-time home buyers.  The Single Family Mortgage Program provides affordable mortgage financing with low, fixed-interest rates, low down payment requirements, and cash assistant grants.  Borrowers must meet certain income and purchase price limits to qualify for the program.

“The lenders we’ve named have gone above and beyond to help more than 527 first-time buyers safely realize their dreams of home ownership,” said Liz Lamoureux, managing director of home ownership at New Hampshire Housing.  “The Authority appreciates their hard work and is pleased to continue working with these lenders to serve buyers striving to purchase their first homes.”
Mortgage loan originators play an important role in the home buying process since they guide borrowers through the application process, match them up with a mortgage product, and work with borrowers through the loan closing.

As shared by Gary W. Gray, president and CEO of Connecticut River Bank, N.A., “The bank is proud of the accomplishment Sarah Powell, and all of our originators, is being recognized for by the New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority.  This is just one of many examples illustrating how community banks and bankers meet the needs of the local neighborhoods we serve.”

Further information about the bank mortgage loan products and current rates can be found at www.crbna.com.
Connecticut River Bank, N.A., is a nationally chartered commercial bank with eleven offices located along the Connecticut River Valley from Lancaster to Keene, NH, providing an array of commercial and residential loan and deposit products. The bank currently has total assets in excess of $265 million and over 100 full-time employees and is a member of FDIC and an equal housing lender.
